A doctoral candidate in UMass Boston’s  who is currently engaged in developing outreach material related to stress associated with the COVID-19 crisis has received the 2020  from Division 12 of the American Psychological Association. Bryan Balvaneda is in his sixth year at UMass Boston.

AMHERST, Mass. – Answering an urgent call for assistance from regional health care systems, a volunteer team of scientists at the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Amherst is preparing, testing and delivering thousands of vials of viral transport media, a chemical solution needed for COVID-19 diagnostic testing. Their work is having a statewide impact.

The School of Public Health and Health Sciences (SPHHS) will hold its  on Tuesday, April 14 in a virtual format that allows for remote participation. The annual event serves as an opportunity for the campus community to learn more about the research and practice conducted by SPHHS students.

In lieu of live poster presentations, students submitted abstracts to participate in the event. Abstracts will be collected into a book and posted online prior to the event.
